As I get older I realize that just like anything else being fit and healthy is something that requires effort. It’s something I have to work at.
When I became electrosensitive back in 2002 I kind of thought “I knew it all” already. I was exercising, I was eating plenty of fruit and vegetables, I was living a relatively stress free life, I didn’t smoke and I was not a heavy drinker.
But I was totally ignorant to the dangers of cell phone radiation and electromagnetic pollution. So when my body suddenly one day reacted violently to all this, despite my so-called healthy lifestyle, it was a wake-up call.
The wake-up call firstly made me seek out solutions for the cell phone radiation, it made me want to understand how I could measure the electromagnetic pollution(EMFs) in my environment and it steered me towards shielding solutions.
But then as time went by I realized that all this was a bit like putting a sticking plaster on a cut, and that the real healing and the real protection came from my body. So I set about learning how to optimize this healing and protection process. And this is what I’m still doing. Because it’s a journey.
Today I would like to share with you the following video by Dr Stephen Sinatra, so that you like me may continue, or maybe begin (if it’s the first time you are encountering this kind of information) your journey to better health in our electromagnetic world.
Dr. Sinatra: “The 5 pillars of healing is something that I have been working on for over 30 years. And after writing 12 books and seeing patients for that number of years and literally doing experiments in the animal and human model, I have come up with a formula that really works. If you practice my 5 pillars of healing you will get well. Let me tell you about the first one.
- A Non-inflammatory Diet.
Pillar number one is a diet that has a lot of protein, a lot of healthy fats that do not elicit insulin. Try to eat organic as much as possible and fresh fruits and vegetables. You do not want to have a lot of sugars. You do no not want to elicit an insulin response. We know that excess insulin is a prime source of inflammation and inflammation is the root cause of heart disease.
Pillar number two is exercise. Exercise is important because it enhances cardiovascular health. What a lot of people do not realize is that exercise will elicit growth hormone and it is the best way to detoxify the body. When we exercise we mobilize our intestines. My patients used to ask me all the time, ‘Dr. Sinatra what can I do to help me move my bowels?’ I would say ‘walk your dog!’ When you walk your dog and move you will move in all places not just one.
Pillar number 3 is detoxification. Basically the body is full of toxins. We are exposed to heavy metals, radon, cigarette smoke, insecticides, pesticides and the list goes on and on. You know our body must detoxify and when we are exposed to so many chemicals and heavy metals and do not detoxify the body is overwhelmed, what we call oxidative stress. This causes salient information which is really the essence of all diseases. I learnt about detoxification years ago, I was on a cruise, I was lecturing and I saw the worst case of Parkinson disease that I have ever seen and it was a gentleman who worked at the time in a chemical factory. And then the next lecture on the program was on detoxification and so I had this ‘ah’ and I realized that we had to detoxify from chemicals and heavy metals.
- Targeted Nutritional Support
Pillar number 4 is targeted nutritional support. When you take B vitamins, carotenoids, flavonoids, these are compounds found in fresh fruits and vegetables and particularly co-enzyme Q10, the carnitine, ribose and magnesium. When you take this conglomerate of nutraceuticals it boosts Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which is the energy in our cells that actually restores and repairs our cells, so a good nutraceutical program is a must.
- Mind Body Medicine
The fifth pillar of healing is mind body medicine. What do I mean by that? Well first of all emotional stress is as toxic as heavy metals are and you have to look at emotional stress as a risk factor. Think about high blood pressure. Years ago in medical school we were taught that 80% of high blood pressure was idiopathic; we called it the central hyper tension. However, we know now that oxidative stress due to emotional stress is one of the biggest factors in a hyper sensitive individuals and in order to combat emotional stress the most important thing is really assuaging the sympathetic nervous system. How do you do that? Well Yoga, Tai chi, Jeung, all these different therapies that really tone down the sympathetic nervous system and when you do that the heart improves, the brain improves, the pituitary hypothalamic access and the hormone interactions improve and you have smooth sailing ahead.
So those are my five pillars, you practice those and you will get well.”
