I would like to see dietary menus to restore health. Your ebook, “Beating Electrical Sensitivity” is fantastic. So much good information there. I’m on my second listen through (I had to dig out an old MP3 player because listening to it on my Android was hurting my ears). The nutritional information is good, congruent with other stuff that I read for getting well from mold illness. However, specific recipes would be helpful. Something like, what do I make for breakfast tomorrow?

My dinner tonight was Salmon in lemon butter and garlic with sauteed broccoli rappini (rabe) in garlic and onions. Am I on the right track? I do green smoothies but can’t get them to taste good unless I put a lot of fruit in it, but that means too much fructose. For lunch I eat mostly salads that I have to buy out. Only sometimes can I make my own salad and bring it to work. What other options to I have for lunch? That salads don’t always fill me up.

I haven’t gotten into juicing yet; I’m looking for a more stable place to live where I can control most of my environment. So, any specifics on what to ear or at least how to measure if your on the right track, preparing correctly, eating the right amounts, etc.

Interesting coincidence is that I just listened to the audio on cooking before making dinner. I used the pans they have here to prepare dinner: teflon. Well, my salmon stuck to the “non-stick” pan so tomorrow I’ll be off to buy some stainless steel pans.

Hi.

I might be able to offer something? The diet I have has not yet made me well even after 15 years of self discipline and care, but…and it is a big but… I might have been so much worse than I am now, if I hadn`t? We probably have to take scrupulous care on every front when under the bombardment of the effects of this modern world.
So on the basis, that we will be able to say at the end, ” Well I did my best” I recommend the youTube Videos of David Wolfe…if you can stand his healthiness and exhuberance…etc?

You should find some ideas there. His love of chocolate is amazing. All the health qualities are given. This chocolate is not roasted, so the original health compounds are complete when eaten raw. Then chocolate becomes a health food! The powder from the raw bean is pronounced “cak owa ” or similar, and spelt cocao, ( not the roasted and sweetened form which is as you know; cocoa. It can get confusing.) These ideas of his give the health/nutritional content, and how to use them, and above all must be really tasty!

I totally agree about breakfasts by the way. You could look up the health benefits of Chia seeds, but they need fruit added to the breakfast mix for flavour.
Perhaps we can start a recipe theme?

Pat : )

Pat, 15 years is a long time. Did you try different diets in that time? There’s no way I will be sane after 15 years of living like this. 9 months of this has driven me to the point of so much anger and frustration I want to go live in the woods somewhere just to get away from it all. That’s why I want to know if I’m on the right path. Right now, my sensitivites have gotten worse, both chemical and electrical. I just started getting a reaction to the pillows I’ve been using for the last 9 months. And the metal cot makes my muscles pulse and twitch now when I lay on it. I had to sleep on the floor last night on a piece of foam (double wrapped in allergenic covers so I don’t react to that) to stop the twitching. This illness is so insidious. Thanks for the information. I wish you success in getting well soon.

Hi Thadley.

Thank you for the points that you raised. I hope that you can stand a long reply?
15 years have been as long as I have had ME. I started the careful diet regime because of that.
I became electro sensitive a year ago, which is not good on top of an exhaustion illness!
As more information became available over the years I tried one diet and then another. Everyone knows it has become an impossible science in its own right.
My latest tack, is to use them all! So I am strict vegetarian all week, using only organic natural foods, all prepared and nothing out of a can, or factory made with all those suspect additives. Our bodies are already overstressed, and we do not want to add to the load, do we? Occasionally I switch back to meat. I have got to reduce or stop dairy and wheat altogether, as they are actually damaging. Try looking up phytates in wheat for example. If you eat sandwiches and /or pies ever, that will certainly make you feel worse.
“The China Study” ” Healthy to a 100″ and other books show that our illnesses and degeneration, are mainly centred in the Western world. There are natural societies of people who do not get any of this, and commonly live past 100 years of age in perfect health, until they finally ” slip off the dish ” No, it is not genetic, because if the healthy ones move West they soon adopt our pattern of perpetual illness which creates a lot of prescriptions for factory made medicines which generates a lot of money. We are cash cows!
So natural communities and stone age man as well ( See ” Stone age diet ” online ) would eat meat at feast times, or occasionally, so I do the same. This keeps the options open.
Actually, I dont know if this helps, but it is often a case of ” push comes to shove ” in that we are forced to do exactly that which is best for us.
I think perhaps that if each of us adapts just as much as we can bear, and be happy with that, because even that is better than nothing. Then later one can add to it. ..and so on. Take it easy and read the information that is available these days. ” Dr Mercola” is a great help online. Perhaps you can make a custom made diet for you and no one else. Dont jump in with both feet, but go at the changes gently. Your body will probably be glad of that!!!
I sleep soundly on the floor, and not at all in the bedrooms. We just have to adapt. Our bodies are not happy. You mention a metal cot. Well metal beds, metal mattress springs, and metal bits in teeth, bodies, and spectacles are all antennas. Yes I use mite proof and waterproof mattress covers. I do not use allergenic products because the anti-allergy part is obtained by chemicals in the fabric, and that might be just another problem. New mattresses outgas, and I dont know how long that takes? Pillows are going to have something in them which is unnatural I expect, so organic is best if you can afford it and find it?
Sleeping is aided by Earthing products found online. Seeing as the body does most of its healing while we are switched off and out of action at night, I believe that sleeping has to be perfected in every way.
Thank you for your good wishes. I send the same to you. If we can control this problem, or even beat it entirely, then we all need gold stars for sheer tenacity, determination and grit.
I long to hear from anyone who is beginning to win through, and to hear how it has been achieved? I too want to head for the woods. The trees will clean the air, and there might be a fresh water spring, beauty and very little streess. Such a lovely dream. Any ideas anybody ? : ) I am typing in a headnet, so I can`t quite see what I am typing some of the time!”

Hi Thadley
Glad you liked my book. Point taken about dietary menus. I will be doing another update on my book over the next couple of months – if you have already bought the book I will send you the update for free.

Hi Thadley.

You mentioned that you are going to seek out some Stainless steel pans?
Today there is a Dr Mercola article online, which is the most comprehensive look at cookware I have seen. Has anyone seen it yet? The trouble is the article culminates in products which he has for sale. I just wonder if the alloy of metals which make up Stainless Steel, contains and therefore maybe can release, ( and according to Dr Mercola it does ) , Nickel and other toxic metals! I love my stainless steel pans! His pans are made of ceramic. Ceramic is way the best choice for sure, Just dont put a hot one down on a cool damp surface. The result of doing that is totally ….! It cracks apart in shards in a second! : )

My word for one of the diets was ” Stone age ” but actually online it is more likely found under the name of ” Paleo “.
It occurs to me that maybe Paleo pots would be healthiest as well? Pottery pots? When I used to dig, I learnt that the most medieval broken pottery pieces, are usually found just outside the door of the peasants house. The lady of the house would sweep them up and chuck the pieces out of the door! This suggests that a choice of cookware was never easy! We will have to settle for raw then ? : ) I hope that these pieces of information are useful?

Hi Pat,

I do appreciate the information you have. I didn’t know that you have ME. I assume that is Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, it’s the same, or associated with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? That is an inflammatory response based syndrome. A lot of mold illness sufferers get CFS. I’ve learned from a Dr. Richie Shoemaker that many of these inflammatory based illnesses/syndromes are genetic. If you have the specific HLA DR type, you will get sick when presented with toxic overload, whereas others may not get sick with the same toxic overload. The reason you’ll get sick, as I did, is because the immune system doesn’t get rid of the toxins like it’s supposed to.

One of the things that attracted me to this site is Lloyd’s insight into toxic overload being the cause of Electro Sensitivity and how he overcame it with proper nutrition. This is consistent with those who have recovered from mold illness. My saga began with toxic mold and then I developed chemical then electric sensitivities. Now, the electric sensitivity has gotten worse, making life very difficult.

I assumed you meant the “paleo diet” when you said “stone age.” I have a friend who was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and she was able to beat it using the paleo diet and lives a normal life now. I know others who got relief from their MS symptoms by using powerful antioxidants that have natural anti-inflammatory qualities. I’m using them also trying to get relief. I feel better, when I’m not being exposed to something, but still have these sensitivities.

I did buy a stainless steel pan and a ceramic pan. I’ll see how they work out. Just couldn’t use the worn out non-stick pans, that do actually stick, in the house where I’m staying. I’ve read a lot of Dr Mercola’s stuff. He has a lot on mold also. I bought my pans at Target because I needed them like NOW. the food is not sticking to the ceramic one, which is what I use the most.

I’m off the steel cot for now and on the floor until I can get a wooded frame. It just seems to never end. Hopefully, there will be.

Hi thadley.

I have enjoyed reading your reply, and there is a lot of new information in there for me. Thank you.
I have been careful with nutrition for so long. However we had such a long difficult winter here. ( in the UK. ) So that led to me returning to carbs, and that is I believe the worst thing one can do. Dairy and carbs. ( The body has to work so much harder to extract energy from the breads etc, so that it is bound to be bad for electro sensitivities and very much so for the Myalgic. E….( .you got it right.and yes it is called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome by doctors who prefer the generalised terminology.).. Then eventually the whole lot of carbs is turned into sugars! A recipe for diabetes.. I too will continue with my stainless steel pans until a good quality ceramic version comes along.
That is interesting about genetics, but no one else in the family have any signs of anything like that. They are all too sensible to allow it to happen to them! One must absolutely not be an enthusiastic and willing worker in this day and age of overzealous managers. They still want to crack the whip.
I still sleep well in the interior space of the house, It is good to get a wooden bedframe. I don`t have the room so must remain on the floor. Dont forget the mattress springs, but I have to use them, and it is not preventing sleep where I now am. If we get even small satisfactory results, then that will go a long way. I send best wishes for good results to you and all others who are also working so very hard at this .
Thanks for the chat. : )

A friend of mine has posted about the petroleum-based vitamin business and she swears by the supplements from this company. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mannatech

You can apparently test your supplements by heating them…I forget just how it works, but I dare say the mannatech website will have something about it.

Hi.

Synthetic vitamins can not be readily bio available to the body can they. I agree with you.

If it is OK to answer this query, then I can say that a look at Regenerative Nutrition may interest you.
I dont know if there any organic vitamins anywhere, However this company pack just the ingredients into capsules and so eliminate all the magnesium stearate, binders and fillers that tablets almost always seem to have to have.
It is an international company and distributes all across the world.
I am on the lookout for more of the same. So if we are OK with posting our findings here, I look forward to more hints .

Hi Seagazer
Yes please post your findings here (people overtly or covertly promoting products they are selling is not welcome). Sharing what works for you is always of interest. Thanks
