A few relatively recent news items about Smart Meters
It’s not just people who are affected
Insurance companies are concerned about Smart Meter fires
And as reported previously, some companies are refusing to provide cover against Smart Meter fires.
What does this do to any cost-benefit case for Smart Meters? Guess who will pay for these replacements (either directly or indirectly)?
Amusing article touting the benefits of Smart Meters – note the source (Big Power).
Some great quotes
‘They’ll be installed at no additional cost by energy suppliers.’
So why do so many consumers report unexplained and dramatic increases in their bills, and what about situations like this – unlikely to be an isolated incident
‘they’ll allow customers to take control of their energy use’
Strange – I though people did that by switching appliances on and off
No mention of health effects
And the headline? ‘Benefits to be had from roll-out of smart meters are boundless’
Try telling that to the people featured in this video
But the author had better stand well back lest she ‘gets her head in her hands to play with’ (well-know Scottish saying).
