Hello:

This is Jenny. I’m new to this forum. I’m a new mom with 16 months baby. I’m health conscious, and have been paying a lot of attention to choose healthy alternatives in this toxic world. Such as organic food and clothing, organic mattress and furniture without chemical treatment, non toxic toys for babies, etc. I’m aware of EMF issue, but not in so much details. This forum is very helpful.

I have a question to ask: I’m thinking of buying Air purifier (Austin Air), as indoor air quality is poor due to chemicals in paint, flooring, furniture. But I’m concerning about the EMF pollution from the air purifier. Does anybody have some experiences or knowledge in this area? Does the Austin Air purifier create EMF pollution, and how bad it is? Does the benefit of clean air overweight the EMF pollution? As it suggests to keep it on all the time including night, to keep fresh air. I’d appreciate any comments or suggestions on this!

Hi Jenny Zhang , Been waiting for a reply tor your question as I have the same question and even more questions. If you see this.. did you get an purifier? If so what brand and model did you go with?
I imagine someone could just test with a good EMF meter. All I have is a CellSensor meter. I am still overwhelmed by all the choices of EMF meters… I need to discover which one is best for me.

I have personally been using Austin Air products for 12 years. I have used the Austin Air HealthMate Plus and the plain HealthMate model. I favor the plain HealthMate as I believe the potassium iodide in the Plus was not best for my hypothyroidism and it also did not agree right out of the box for a close friend of mine who is a non secretor. I am a Blood Type A- secreator but I am mildly chemical and EMF sensitive.
The secreator status is followed by those who follow Dr. Perter D’Adamo Blood Type Diet. http://dadamo.com/txt/index.pl?1008
I mention that because my understanding is that non-secreators can be more sensitive to many things.
FYI if you are not familiar.. “A Secretor is defined as a person who secretes their blood type antigens into body fluids and secretions like the saliva in your mouth, the mucus in your digestive tract and respiratory cavities, etc. … A Non-secretor on the other hand puts little to none of their blood type into these same fluids.” and “Frequency of ABH secretor status in the world population is about 80% secretors and 20% non-secretors” from https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/p…..MC3955570/
That was a tangent… anyway, I was refereed to Austin Air by a great health advocate, Raymond Francis D.Sc., M.Sc., RNC,, He was a chemist by training and a graduate of M.I.T. and I like many of his recommendations.
I’ve stayed with Austin Air because they are reasonably priced, have good customer service and the filters last 5 years. I did pick up a reading on my CellSensor at close contact to the cord, plug and motor areas. I’d like to know more. I mostly have our units turned off when I am in the same room and I turn them all on high when I leave the house.
I am open to looking at other air purifiers but this one has been working well for us. If anyone knows more about the EMF output for Austin Air or other air purifiers please let us know.
