Many PEMF devices are on the market and many popular health gurus and athletes endorse them (Earthpulse, IMRS, Beck pulsers etc.)

What is the considered EMF safety of these? I am especially concerned about the long duration ones such as Earthpulse that operate all night under your mattress as you sleep.

Hi Telefunker. This is an interesting question and one which is usually glossed over in the studies, reports etc. I have read that some doctors use PEMF’s to deliberately open the blood/brain barrier to assist in the delivery of drugs – and also that phones/wifi etc can open the BBB unintentionally, allowing toxins to enter the brain. Take your pick! Maybe both are true.
I suspect the usual get-out-of-jail-free card will be that exposures are well within the ICNIRP guidelines – which as you are probably aware do not provide adequate protection.
I would personally be very wary of any device which exposes you to any kind of EMF for an extended period – particularly overnight. You could try asking the suppliers about long-term safety studies……. I know I was severely affected by a static magnetic field during sleep – so even static fields are not necessarily safe, although again they can be used short-term (a few minutes) for therapeutic purposes. The only thing I use is an Earthing sheet, which simply connects to the natural energies and electric fields of the planet.

From my personal experience, PEMF machines are wonderful. There are lots of studies of them helping with inflammation and they are used on people who have brain injuries and brain cancer. With that said… I think there are good ones and bad ones out there and they are not regulated on the market. The machine I used is called the ICES machine and it was able to get my back pain from a 8-9 down to 1-2. (On a scale of 10). I also was able to get rid of a 20 year old knee injury using this machine 3 times. So now I can kneel on my knee.

But this has made me realize how sensitive I am to EMFs in general which has really changed my life. This is why I have started trying to eliminate the harmful ones in my life. I will still use my machine since it has been very helpful with my fibro pain. I think with great power comes great responsibility, haha. Some lower more natural levels can be healing while the higher artificial ones can be harmful. That’s just my two cents.
