It appears that the rulers of the EU in their infinite wisdom are following the American model of protecting Big Industry from having to disclose important information about any harmful aspects of their products. Big Telecom is one of the first beneficiaries.
This is a flagrant violation of the right-to-know principle which has been such and issue in Berkley and in France with the recent ‘Phonegate’ scandal.
‘Marc Arazi and Jérôme Karsenti denounce the entry into force of the confidentiality clause of the European directive which allows « the manufacturers of mobile devices to benefit from total confidentiality for products they will place on the European market that may be a risk to human health ».’
