Just wondering if solar power inverters emit radiation please? My daughter has solar power in her Queenslander High Set house and the inverter sits in the garage under a bedroom. Two electricians have said that there is no risk but I’m not convinced.
Thanks for your thoughts on the above.

Solar inverters are most noted for creating Dirty Electricity – intermediate frequencies (in the KHz range) which can affect an entire building via the mains wiring. There is some information in this forum and possibly on the main site as well – you’ve probably found it already. You might find the following interesting
I believe the solution may be a ‘pure sine wave inverter’ which should produce clean electricity at the correct frequency. To check the quality of the supply from the existing inverter you would need a Stetzer meter (see main site) or something similar.
There could also be power frequency electric and magnetic fields from the inverter but these tend to fall off rapidly with distance – again you would need a power frequency meter to be absolutely sure.
In my experience electricians who really understand this stuff are rare. If you want outside help a Building Biologist would be a better bet.
Some solar systems also include a wireless management/monitoring system which could emit high levels of radio frequency radiation.
