You’ve probably gathered from reading my posts that I much prefer to be upbeat and offer solutions on the cell phone radiation/electrosensitivity issue, rather than dwell too much on the imponderables. This time I would like to make an exception….
A few days ago there was one of those sad articles published on a news syndication website which I would never have paid any particular attention to had it not been for a fellow ES friend bringing it to my attention. The story in The Journal [1]went:
A BODY discovered in a Northumberland river was last night confirmed as that of missing Shirley Ferguson. Northumbria Police confirmed that the body found at Morpeth on Monday was that of the 56-year-old, from Berwick…..
The loss of a person especially a loved one is both traumatic and deeply saddening. I never knew Shirley Ferguson but what I find even more saddening is the circumstances of her death. Shirley was suffering from acute sensitivities; light-sensitivity, restless arms, chemical-sensitivity, electro-sensitivity and intolerance of her home electrics.
Its for the coroner to determine the cause of death but it does seem as though the passing away of Shirley was linked to her sensitivities.
Sarah Dacre at ES-UK tells me that:
“She seemed to lack support from those who rejected her cries for help and who dismissed the friendship, advice, books and printed materials which she was given regarding her electro-sensitivity. We also supplied information to her medical advisers, including scientific guidance, but sadly it seems that the significance of her condition was not fully appreciated. She appears to have reduced all of her options and felt blocked and denied by those who dismissed her real symptoms. My own thanks go to the tireless support of the telephone help-line volunteers who are always available to help every caller.”
Shirley Ferguson R.I.P. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones that she has left behind. Let’s not let Shirley Ferguson die in vain. Wireless radiation and electromagnetic fields are serious life threatening issues facing our society. If I can only spur one person on to take some positive steps to protect themselves from EMFs and radiation after reading about Shirley Ferguson then I can at least rejoice in that. How many more Shirley Fergusons do we need before this issue is brought out of the closet?
